Workshop on Innovative Technology of Information Retrieval |
With rapid growth of the development of
Web and multimedia techniques, numerous kinds of online information content and
services are prosperously prompted. Web platforms are thus more widely and
deeply incorporated in human life and interactions. Therefore, many innovative
studies emerge due to the incorporation of traditional information retrieval
(IR) techniques in the versatile Web contents, and related discussion has
received much attention in academia
and industrial community. To obtain information or knowledge of high quality, a
variety of techniques in diverse research areas must be integrated properly,
such as Web mining, text mining, information retrieval, information extraction,
machine learning, and natural language processing. To this end, the workshop
has been held annually from 2002 to provide a forum for in-depth scientific
discussion and system demonstration. This year, 2010, the theme of the workshop
focuses on recent innovative developments on IR technologies. The
Institute of Information Science of Academia Sinica,
the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering of Yuan Ze University, and the Department of Computer Science and
Information Engineering of National Cheng Kung University will cooperatively
hold this workshop, which brings together researchers and practitioners to
foster the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of emerging techniques in
IR. The workshop chairs sincerely invite you to participate in this in-depth
discussion forum and expand the frontiers of IR.
